Impressive!

Thanks for the history lesson. I am a poor historian.

I try to save a life a day, usually it is my own.

I like watching The Players Championship "better than most" golf broadcasts.

(Sorry, couldn't resist.) Mostly because, there isn't another par 3 in the world that makes those guys pucker up like the island green 17th at TPC Sawgrass. And, no matter how great a round they may be having, they know it can all drown on that one hole, and it always awaits them lurking at the end of the round.

The only other holes I can think of that inspire that kind of fear, although not as much, are Golden Bell (No. 12) at Augusta, when the wind is up, and the par 4 17th "Road Hole" at St. Andrews.

As far as The Players, I really don't mind the yearly replays of Tiger making that putt on 17, because, it really was, "That's...Better than most, Better than MOST, BETTER THAN MOST!" One of the most recognizable golf calls of all time.

Hope all three of our Tigers in the field have a great showing.

I love all of the coverage available as well. I was able to watch Carson's entire round and most of Lucas's round this morning on ESPN+. Then, when those ended, I switched over to Hole 17 coverage for the remainder of the day. Hopefully, we get to watch Ben tomorrow morning.

Maybe one day this will become normal for all PGA TOUR tournaments.

I'm excited about watching Ben in the morning. Was more excited when I felt for sure he'd be -5 or something.

If you already posted about Kyle Cottam qualifying, my apologies. But I saw where he made the "first qualifying " cut at -4 for the Valspar.. think it was Valspar. Anyway, was a bit confused about first stage?? Or however it was worded. Thanks.

Thanks Clemgalalways®!

I don't often keep up with the pre-qualifiers, but glad to see Kyle made it to the Monday qualifier. It looks like he will be joined by Bryson and Doc. I think players have until 5 PM on Friday to confirm, so maybe we'll see some more Tigers as well.

Side note:

With the LET tournament off a few weeks, Alice and her soon to be hubby enjoying Florida. Disney et al, but mainly playing different golf courses and taking in some spring baseball training w friends and ballplayers. They're also wandering around Sawgrass and The Players. Before they head north for tigertown.

Live it up gal. Yolo - not a bad gig.

Meanwhile, Jacob and his main squeeze are floating around Puerto Rico in a yacht.

Two TIGERS are on the Course:
Lucas is -1 through 3 Holes (T-10) . . .
Carson was -1 through 7 Holes, then bogeyed Hole #8 . . . His Even Par efforts so far have him T-29

The rest of “My Favorites” will be playing in the afternoon session . . . including Ben Martin!

@ THE PLAYERS . . . another one is limping to the finish line . . .

Carson twice got to 1 Under . . . only to bogey the very next hole! The second bogey came on the 12th Hole where he missed the green from 86 yards . . . Sky Reporter (UK), Iona Steven, often states, “Missing the green with a wedge in your hand . . . is akin to missing your mouth with the fork”!!!!!!!

Then Carson eagles the Par 5, 16th Hole only to 3-putt bogey 18 . . . 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏽
Carson ended the day at -1 and is Currently T-25th Place.

I won’t even begin with Lucas . . .

Finish strong Lucas . . . and . . . Best Wishes to Ben in the afternoon session!!!

Skeeta56 - welp. All the afternooners started excellent. I just knew Ben and your guys were going low. Heck, made the turn in great shape... gave it all back or didn't do anything coming in. Did the weather change or something. There sure were some excellent rounds earlier.

Sahita and Akshay along with Ben can hopefully give us something interesting to follow this afternoon.

Lucas just doesn't play well here. Wonder why. Seems he'd play it well. Par 5's his game fits well. Putting I guess.

Carson, just smh. Won't bore with details but had a 6ft birdie he missed. 2 self induced bogeys. One he was center cut and 90 yards to the pin and turns it into a bogey. Par 5 2nd hole - 230 from great lie and angle to the pin and he turns into a par. Big green too. Should be -4 or -5. Argh.
