-TuneIn Radio: let's you listen to ANY radio station in the country that does an internet feed
-Flipboard
-USA Today
-Pandora
-Camera+ : actually use this instead of the camera app on the iPhone. fantastic, and has lots of cool editing features. Highly rated app
-Colorsplash: another good photo app... this one lets you manually make a photo black and white, and then fill in the color as you wish.
-8mm: video app that has several different video "filters" to give it an old look (70's, 60's, 1920, Siena)... very cool app
-Watch ESPN
-Tweetbot: If you're a Twitter user, this is the best Twitter app out there. very nice
-Solar: A very cool weather app. It's simple, looks amazing. Check it out
-iWant Pro- good utility app that shows restaurants, gas stations, ATM's, grocery stores, just about anything to your desired radius. Also has integrated Yelp reviews for restaurants and such
-ESPN ScoreCenter: this app is ok.. I use it and setup my favorite teams, and setup alerts for scores and such.
-Fandango
-Hulu+

Wolfgang's Vault - fantastic streaming concert archive
MLB At Bat - probably my favorite app
NY Times - lots of good news apps out there; this is my choice as the best.
If you run or bike, get an app that tracks your workouts.
NO ESPN apps. They are the Devil.

Someone before mentioned SmartScan. Either that or Genius Scan is amazing.
Takes pictures and converts them to PDF for emailing (you can add to Dropbox or Twitter if you get the Pro version, but email is sufficient)
Great for those times when you need to send a quick document and don't have a scanner/copier handy
