A good friend of mine told me this past weekend about us filing suit against ACC. He and his team seem to think in a couple of years ncaa will be two conferences, east and west ( or one conference with two divisions). So we may not go to a conference right away and wait it out until the final shift.

if that were the case.. no need for a lawsuit

there would be no GOR or any other conference at that point

Since the consolidation is expected to include 50 +/- teams and many in the ACC will not be included, Clemson needs to be free of the GOR so they can jump move away from those left behind in the ACC.

The consolidation is not news as even Dabo talked about it last year.

That sounds like a reasonable endgame for College Football. But a couple of years doesn't sound like nearly enough time for all of the legal shifting to take place. I would think it would be closer to 5+ years for that to shake out. In the mean time it would be in Clemson's best interest to join the B1G or SEC, as those would likely be the two controlling conferences (even if eventually by two different names).
