The gist of it is, the SEC and B1G are stacking the deck for the 12/14 team playoff so that not only to they get the most teams in, but they also get significantly more money. This guy is braking down the Ross Dellenger article.

.... the SEC and B1G are playing the rest of the schools for dummies.

The game, according to some, is, "We offered a reasonable playoff format. We tried very hard to help these other conferences out. But, they didn't want to agree to our reasonable offers. So, we have no choice but to break off and form our own division. Don't blame us. We did everything we could."
