Help me understand. FSU only 3.5 dog to bama

Jan 13, 2017, 4:16 PM

The way their o line played this year they should be 10-14 point dogs. I think FSU is going to get smoked. Bad o line and losing cook.

I could be wrong but I rarely am.

Heard that almost every Alabama player on their defense who's name you heard in the NC game is either graduating or going pro.

bama is losing Williams, Anderson, Foster, Allen, Humphrey,

Jan 13, 2017, 4:25 PM

Jackson Off of their D and maybe more. Basically their whole D-Line and their best LB and corner. Best WR declared, best OL and top TE gone. Bo and Hurts are back and they obviously have talent, just unproven. FSU returning majority of their team that beat an overrated Michigan. This one is a complete guess.

So Bo and Hurts are back but are virtually losing everyone else and remain preseason number 1. Clemson loses Watson, two receivers, a RB, snd 4 defensive starters and we're not top 5? I get we lose the greatest CFB player in Watson but we have guys to fill in most spots while Bama loses almost all their key players but is number 1. Makes no sense

It's because theyve done it multiple times. Losing over half of their starters rarely phases Bama and they aren't reliant on a great QB like we are. They are carried by their defense and running game which are both always outstanding regardless of who's playing for them.

We still have to prove we can lose the majority of our offensive production and an all time great QB and still be elite.

Lucky for us we've recruited elite QBs to step up

DW4 may be the greatest ever. Next man up is no slouch and may just prove to be more than good enough.

How many times does it take?

Vegas only cares about getting equal money bet on both teams. That is why they give a point differential. What the line is really about is they believe most people will bet Alabama will win outright so to get more people to bet on FSU they give FSU "x" amount of points. That line may and probably will change by fall, depending upon spring practice and other inputs. If Hurts gets hurt in the Bama spring game FSU will probably become the favorite. If Francios (sp) gets hurt in fall camp it will probably change again. In other words they don't think Bama is 3.5 points better they think that number is what will get equal money bet.

They lost the A$$$$$$$$ big time in the championship game because most of the money was on Clemson. They would have won a bunch if Bama had won.

Just let it go. People like this are the reason you and I win when we bet the spread.

We beat them, but not by much

Jan 13, 2017, 5:45 PM

...going up against that same OL. Why would you expect Bama to beat them by more than we did???

They were young, but played better late. They should be solid next season.

FSU is going to be good, real good next year. Wouldn't surprise me if they beat Bama.

10-14 would be insane on this game. Not believing you are rarely wrong.

Looking at what FSU has coming back, this game is hard to read. FSU losing the left side of their OL, Randolph, and Cook. If you think Francois took a beating last year, this year could be worse. Albeit, defensively, they only lose two starters but their best, Walker, is gone. They should be competitive on defense, although they did give up a lot of points to better than average offenses. Bama is losing a LOT on defense, but they have this habit of reloading. They WILL miss Foster, Allen, Williams, and several others. Offensively, you can look for them to do the "Derrick Henry" with Scarbrough. Bama losing 6 starters on defense, and these are GOOD starters. I can see Bama winning 34-17, something like that.

Bama losing a ton all around but especially on D. FSU OL will get better. Francois will be a year older. I look for FSU to actually win that game. Watch for Derwin James to make a huge impact. He is a freak of nature

Don't sleep on FSU. They are keeping way more than they are losing and other than Cook and Walker they are keeping their main core of players. Don't think we are the only team that gets better in the off season. They will get better, they will recruit their butts off and for the most part they will compete with anybody they play. More than half of their OL was true freshman last year. I think they had more potential learning the playbook than they did playing on the field this season. I see Bama FSU being a dog fight and a battle of who has the best QB which in my opinion is Francois.
