Looks like only 79 teams are bowl eligible.... Need 82.... 1 of remaining 3 will go to Army-Navy winner.... Leaves 13 teams with 5-7 records.... 9 of the 13 are P-5.... You see where I'm going? Could not have imagined it.... Hopefully they are given to the conferences with the fewest bowl eligible teams....

Don’t think USuC would accept a bid at 5-7? I know they have no shame but you don’t want that asterisk on your resume. It’s terrible enough already.

2 of the 3 open spots went to James Madison and Jacksonville State. They both had 6+ wins but were ineligible since they are on P5 probation for 2 years...UNLESS this situation comes up which then becomes an exception for them.

The last spot gets offered to the 5-win team with the highest APR. That is Minnesota.

We could make a strong case that Jacksonville state is the real gamecocks on account of them being the only one in a bowl

Also it'll be fun to point out that they got beat out for a bowl because of their sheety academics

James Madison and the Gamecocks (Jacksonville State) are in due to not enough teams qualifying although they were originally not allowed du to moving up in class. Minnesota could be in based on APR, if they chose to accept. Don't have a link, but I read that yesterday.
