While I'm cool with this

If it's true I still wish we had waited until the end of the CWS to interview some of the coaches who are still in the tournament (unless of course they all expressed that they didn't have interest in the position).

McMullen was interviewed earlier this week even though UVA is in the CWS. If O'Sullivan, Corbin, and Schlossnagle were interested I am sure they would have been interviewed as well. (And maybe they have). If McMullen could express his interest before the CWS, they could have as well. No need to wait till after the CWS if a guy has shown no interest by now.

If this is true I am very sorry to hear that! We would have short-circuited the process for SC expedience. Our program demands a more serious and extensive look! Why not interview a couple of HC's or assistants from CWS teams? Our program demands a national presence, a nationally known coach, who also has demonstrated that he can recruit on a national scale. Covering the bases with a thorough search will only serve to further validate our ultimate selection. Let's do Clemson and the process a more extensive investigation before simply diving in locally!!!!

McMullen WAS interviewed, and UVA IS in the CWS. The others could have been interviewed if they expressed an interest. And maybe they have. I hate to sound like I am supporting DRad, but there is zero evidence that the process has been short-circuited for expedience. In fact, we know that at least one guy involved in the CWS HAS been interviewed.

Could not have a better outome that that if you get Monte Lee and keep Bradley Lecroy as his assistant / assoc. head coach! If Monte brings Matt Heath the pitching coach with him than even better!
No sense dragging this process out if O'Sullivan, McDonnell, and Corbin said not interested. Clearly that is the case and would be no more than a quick phone conversation to confirm. If they were interested I am sure the process would take longer.
Monte Lee is the real deal and you could not ask for a better decision.
Delaying this further will only hurt recruiting and the next few weeks is the most important recruiting period of the baseball season....Juniors not yet committed typcially want to be committed by the end of the summer season which ends in July. If the Raleigh kid knows that Lecroy is going to stay at Clemson then I am sure he will reconsider asking for a release....along with the other players that may ask for a release due to the uncertainty.

Not a done deal quite yet. They're meeting at this moment. It SHOULD be a done deal IF Radakovich will spend the money. Lee wants to bring his pitching coach, and that's going to take some significant money because he is very much in demand right now. If Radakovich does the right thing, everything will work out, possibly with Lecroy retained. If not, it's back to plan B.

That's probably the one thing that could be a stumbling block. Monte wants to bring Heath. Heath is being courted by other schools. DRad will have to pay Heath more than he was paying Pepicelli to make this work. If he cheaps out, it could fall through.

Take your orange colored glasses off..... Monte has done an outstanding job at COC and worked for one of the best coaches "ever" in College Baseball. I know Ray was the enemy but he beat the snot out of us when were where at our best and one game away from the CWS championship. Look at football, how many coaches have been at both schools. USC has a good baseball program that has been better than Clemson's for the last 5 years, forget about football, the baseball gap has been huge! Our baseball has been in the crapper. Now put on the spectacles of truth....Monte Lee - a proven winner and young enough to grow into a Hall of Fame Coach at Clemson. USC on the downward spiral and would have taken Monte at any cost but now it is too late. You gotta beat on and off the field. Remember there is something about those hills so for Monte it will only be a matter time before he is all in. Please let this thread be true....
Delivered like an Orange Rod of Iron....
