The reason is he is clearly a future NFL DT. He’s probably the best DT on the team right now. Out of necessity we have to move our best DT to DE. Had we gone into the portal as we should have we wouldn’t have had to do this.

the move is being spun by some as a newly discovered bonus or luxury option. Could work though, probably will be sufficient vs ACC competition but the move is revealing about the DE position group, save for Parker—

People should actually go back and watch his recruitment vids BEFORE .
JUST AN OPINION,A GUESS. This probably means that the Freshman DT's most likely won't RS and the Freshman DE's will.
Hood was talking bout Thompson in his Freshman report.

Nonsense, we are extremely deep at tackle, and Peter woods is
the best player wherever you put him. The portal is fine, but it is
not the end all. Ask your buddies at SCAR. The best team in America,
after the first portal per their fans. Then comes reality, and back
to mediocrity or doormat status.

I agree, everyone says he has the speed and athleticism to play outside so why not let him. If he plays like I think he will him and Parker will absolutely eat. Which everyone doesn’t get doubled will get one on ones all day, not counting we are very deep and talented at DT.

Burley, Green and two highly touted freshmen inside, so plenty there to rotate. Woods will still play some DT. And don't sleep on Story at DE as like Woods he was recruited with the thought he would play DE as well. At 260 they've clearly been preparing him for this move

DEs more than anything. Moving a great interior lineman to the outside to fill a hole. I hope it works out, but a bit concerning that we don't have any stud DEs and find ourselves having to do this.

I don't see a problem with this. It makes a lot of sense for a lot of reasons. We had a lot of issues with setting an edge last season. I don't see that anymore with Woods at the edge.
