i don't think he'll take the tennessee position even if offered. he'll stay at least the '13 season, we are looking pretty good for next year.at least i'm hoping. but i really do think he'll hold out till he gets the job he wants, not just take a job 'cause it's offered.

i don't think he'll even be on their list.***

agreed.

Nov 18, 2012, 3:55 PM

in tenn.'s situation, they will have to go after a proven hc. charlie strong would be my 1st guess.

i think so too; will be interesting which direction they go.

Nov 18, 2012, 4:05 PM

kiffin embarrassed them with his midnight run to USC, then stung them again when the nc2a added 2 more years probation recently.

they were very impatient with dooley all things considered. not sure, as much as i think strong is a great candidate, they'll go that direction.

he seems deserving of strong consideration though.

I'm told a number of locals and alums favor the Boise State coach. One big reason is that he wouldn't be so expensive and he has a great winning record.

Should start sniping Auburn's commits too

They've put together a good class for next year. Too bad Chizik won't be around to enjoy it.

Have you guys even read who they are interested in

Nov 18, 2012, 4:00 PM

I haven't seen Chad Morris listed once. The main ones that keep popping up for the TN job are:

Charlie Strong
Kirby Smart
Sonny Dykes
Jon Gruden (who the fans want/pipedream)

No one there wants an assistant coach. They want an experienced head coach who can handle everything, plus help to clean up the crap Kiffin left behind.

did you see my post above (@3:55) ?

Nov 18, 2012, 4:06 PM

said strong would be my 1st guess. although i have heard gruden has already bought a house in knoxville:)

is that important? lot more fun to make shyatt up as we go.

Chad is on a number of alums wish lists. They may not be able to afford him. Some I know in TN tell me that the Boise State coach is a top candidate (not sure his name) because he is proven and cheap.

BTW - cheap = they can give him a big raise***

TN commits were not committed to Dooley, I am not saying they will not be swayed after a coach is chosen but dooley is NOT why they chose TN
