Never understood that term. But I understand you can lose and still win ? Sort of like a “new math” paradigm ? Only thing I would have done different this game is perhaps play more guys off the bench. Lads look tuckered out at the end. Some basic group played most of the game.

No such thing as a good loss. There may be losses that don't hurt your postseason chances as much as others in the eyes of a selection committee but every loss is bad

EDIT: Losses can be equal to or better than a win if you are in the SEC. It hurts every other conference though

No, we have 5 or 6 of those every season, where we play a good team close and lose at the end because of a ton of turnovers or long cold streak.

Like what happened last year w/ the losses to Loyola Chicago, SC, & Louisville - those did more to keep us out the dance than anything last year.

Tough loss but hopefully 1 they can learn from, iron out the kinks over the 2 holiday games (Radford/Queens) and get ready to hit heart of ACC play after the New Year b/c we get Miami & UNC right out the gate there.

FWIW

Our RPI dropped from 1 to 2 (Memphis is 3)
Our NET dropped from 11 to 15 (Memphis moved from 40 to 34)
