come into their stronghold and grab CLEM and FSU. Wouldn't they want to be proactive and beat them to the punch?

The SEC needs no more teams to be the best football conference if you buy that. Maybe they don't care what we and FSU do.

When two groups are competing for something, one group does not "let" the other group prevail. Perhaps the value to the BIG is more than the schools value to the SEC. Lots of variables.

I find it hard to believe that the BIG would be the final landing spot other than strictly for academic reasons except in the case that the SEC just isn’t interested and is waiting for the ACC to blow up and take NC and VA schools.

Expansion is about T.V markets. The SEC already control the South Carolina and Florida markets that's why FSU and Clemson bring nothing to the table for the SEC.

Conference realignment talk really exposes these dudes who are Scar fans or UGA fans stalking the board. They really dont want Clemson or FSU in the same conference. Crazy that they think its only about regions and not about how many people want to watch these teams. Heck for the first few years people will be obsessed with watching Clemson and FSU bc most think they couldnt make it in the SEC or BIG, thats going to draw viewers. Why do people watch Bama every time they make the playoffs? Ill tell you the truth, they want to see them lose.

Bc VT was not long ago a national brand and UNC brings you a solid football team, an elite basketball program, and solid everything else.

I don't get that. Clemson and South Carolina are in the same state but clearly not in the same market. The upstate and the Midlands are two separate markets. For that matter, Clemson is closer to Georgia ( Athens) than Columbia.

Control may not be the best term. The SEC already has a PRESENCE in those states. It doesn’t have to be Coke or Pepsi.

When you have a national brand the regional/state tv markets don’t matter anymore. People all over the country will watch your games. I think we’ve proved we’re a national brand.

If anything people hate Clemson/Dabo and will watch praying to see Clemson lose. Thats how you know that Clemson has a national brand, a large bandwagon of haters.

I think it has something to do with Florida and South Carolina.
I don’t see the reason why they wouldn’t immediately accept Clemson and FSU.
If you put both of those programs on bigger stages and against better talent, there will be more attention given. Better recruiting. But it would hurt SC and Florida. Because they would fall behind their rivals that came from another conference.

Scar is a dud in the SEC anyway.
UF is not a flagship program in the SEC, theyre out as the darling trophy wife, why do you need to protect a school from a school with greater upside and arguably a better brand?
