You can compare 2 teams or find out just about anything associated with college football. Try it out. I started you all out comparing Clemson and South Carolina. Not much of a comparison though.
Go Tigers!!! Beat Kentucky!!!

I agree. They have I think 2 "claimed" national championships where they actually lost the last game. Clemson should "claim" the 1948 undefeated season.
Back in the day you could "claim" about anything.

Until the mid 1970s there were a million different "polls". The consensus national champion (or in some years split champion) was typically the AP or UPI (and sometimes New York Times and other major papers). Teams would claim national titles back then because somebody ranked them #1. Also, there were several years with multiple undefeated teams and several would claim a natty.

The UPI was especially odd because it would claim it's national champion before the bowls were even played. Sometimes the teams that lost their bowls (cough, cough, ND and Bama) still claim those NC.

Most teams list of titles should be taken with a grain of salt if they were powerhouses before the mid 70s because that's when the sport became more unified in its structure. Yale is a perfect example with their TWENTY SEVEN claimed NC (none after 1927).
