Just to clear something up concerning Fan Day.

Yes the crowd was big, but that was NOT the reason for the complaints. Someone in the AD changed the structure and decided it was a good idea to limit the number of Fans who could enter DV, and where they could go. WHY? There were no issues in the past when the gates opened and people filled in the stadium. Those seeking autographs could choose to stand in the lines. Those who just wanted to walk around the stadium, see the mascot, the rock, the paw, the field, the players could do so. There was no choice this year.

So sorry. I hope someone will correct that next year. Maybe they were showing extra precaution as someone did vandalize the rock and all.

Seemed like there was a lot of people who didn't get in the stadium. The line for the offense was really long. We got in to see Dabo but waited for a total of 3 hours.
There was no chance for us to see the players after that.

If you only knew what really goes on you might have a different view If you are there on 8/31 look behind the south stands inside the fence maybe even look up from time to time be sure to smile and wave

A few thoughts

First this never should have occurred on move in weekend.
Second, I hated not being able to walk around the stadium. Hell the lines probably would have thinned out if the people who just wanted to mill around we're allowed to. At one point I walked up to the wheel chair ramp at the stands under the tree. I was immediately approached by an event staff person who insisted that the "field is closed today" and demanded I get behind a certain point. I replied that I didn't care I was just looking at the field from 75 yards away, and didn't think I could hurt it from there. Very annoying.
Also, my son (12 months) got a voucher for a tshirt. These were handed out at gate 11 before 5:30pm. When we finally got inside the stadium, I found out they wouldn't let me walk with my son to gate 11 to get the tshirt so players could sign it unless I left the stadium. They then wouldn't let you back in the stadium once you left. When we finally did get there, the kid at the gate asked me what size I needed, told him small. He said they were out of small and medium...didn't really care my son will eventually be able to wear it, but why even ask me what size if you only have one size. Just found that part amusing
Lastly, this should be on a Saturday not Sunday, and should be an all day event. Have the defense come out at 10, offense at 1, coaches at 4. And don't close off sections of the stadium, let people hang out all day. And let us your the indoor facility.

They have had big crowds before. 2009 15,000 and I'm sure the crowds were just as big last year. Not a good thing to let kids wait in line for three hours. Good thing it wasn't hot as heck though.
