year. With five Power 5 conferences vying for a maximum 4 playoff spots - at least one Power 5 Champ was always guaranteed not to make it to the playoffs. It just so happens that some people don't like the one Power 5 Champ the Committee left out this year in lieu of the ones they did pick.

It is all water under the bridge at this point and it will not happen again next year or for the foreseeable future in the new 12 team CFP format starting next season.
