List is missing a few other names from the early 70s. Phil Niekro, Dusty Baker, Davey Johnson.
Not sure about the rest of the list but Hammerin Hank is and always will be #1.

Niekro was the Brad Brownell of MLB. Yes he won 300 games and was a great guy but he lost a boatload of games. If he couldn’t get that knuckleball over on the first two pitches you were about to get an 82 mph fastball to drive somewhere. If Brownells live and die by the three offense is off you will lose to a 3 win team or the 224th ranked team.

As I remember it, Dale was not that great. He was above average, but was the superstar because the entire rest of the team sucked royally.

They were bad. Murphy and Horner were about all the Braves had in the early 80s. In 1983, I can remember driving to Fulton County Stadium, parking 2 rows from the stadium and there were more people selling gold jewelry in the lot than cars parked.
You could walk up to the ticket window and buy a ticket anywhere in the park.

Or you could think about how easy it was to pitch around him all those years when he only had a protector in the lineup for two years with Bob Horner when healthy. With pitchers batting and an easy out in the lineup Murph had to try to make things happen and chase pitches guys on powerhouse teams didn’t have to. And we could revisit the whole stupidity of the Braves in a division with three west coast teams for some reason.
