Atlanta rolling right along as they beat Cleveland 6-2 to go to 18-6 and 3 games ahead of the Phillies in the NL East.I sure hope all us Braves fans never see Atlanta get in a situation like the one with Cleveland(MLB) and Washington(NFL) when both had to discontinue using their Native American mascot names.It just don't seem right at all to say the team names Cleveland Guardians and Washington Commanders

I didn’t think we would ever see the Washington team NOT be the Redskins but I understand as a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant I might not see the issues the same way as indigenous peoples do: Chief Noc-a-homa and his on field teepee was a little much.

I know there is an established working relationship between the Braves organization and members of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee people. The Eastern Natives claim many many Braves fans just as Seminole Nation approves of FSU’s use of Indian related names, war chants etc.

If it comes to changing the team name of our favorite MLB team I hope they come up with something NOT as stupid as Commanders or Guardians…sheesh!

But if they change it I will never give up my “Braves” t shirts, memorabilia. I even kept my Freddie Freeman shirt when he went to LA.

Sorry if long and if you disagree that’s fine too. As I get older I try to be more tolerant of other’s views….unless you’re a stinkin’ Phillies fan.

Go Braves and Tigers!
