Getting the best teams

In the field of 64. I think there should be a minimum of regular season games (including conference tournament games) you should have to win to be considered for an invite outside of winning you conference championship. I’d say 20 should be the bare minimum to be considered. It would take away some of these teams that qualify just because they play in a “tougher” conference. If you finish .500 or less in conferences play you don’t deserve a bid. Similar to having to win at least 6 games to get a bowl bid.

Doesn't that just encourage teams to schedule more

gimme games early in the season? Sure it hurts SOS a little, but that's far better than disqualifying yourself from consideration.

There are 68 teams in the NCAA Tournament bracket. 32 teams in the field won their conference tournament and clinched an automatic bid, while the other 36 were chosen by the selection committee based on their total body of work from this season.

And people think a twelve team football playoff will lead to all deserving teams having a chance. Bwaaaahaaaaaa!
