ESPN has a right to terminate the ACC contract in 2025

Yep. It is written intro the agreement that if the ACC appears on a downward trajectory espn has a right to opt out of the contract extension. By downward trajectory you can see how FSU, Clemson and other schools leaving how that would have a negative impact on viewership on espn. Chances are espn may not want to continue if enough big name schools decide to leave the ACC.

From a football standpoint...

the ACC only has two "big name" schools and both appear to already have one foot out the door.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

True, but I believe FSU still brings strong TV ratings, which is what matters to ESPN.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but that contract is between ACC and ESPN

Wouldn’t the ACC still hold the grant of rights from the schools? Seems like if ESPN cancels, then the ACC has to find a new partner…or take less from ESPN. This would be bad for every ACC school. Seems it would have no impact on our lawsuit.

We better hope we get out before 2027, unless I am missing something. I usually am.
