Former Coaches

Oct 9, 2022, 12:42 PM

Why do we find people on here bashing our former coaches? Can anyone name a former coach who didn't give his all while at Clemson? Why do we wish I'll upon former coordinators? Are we so petty and jealous as to be worried that TE will make UVa a powerhouse a become a real threat to us? Do we so begrudge BVs departure that we revel in his trials?

Some of the comments I've seen here are as bad, or worse, than a middle schooler who begrudges a former girlfriend for finding someone else while still doing very well themselves.

I don't think TE should've stayed at Clemson. Though I firmly believe he gave us his best, it wasn't working out well. I think we are better off with his taking the new job and I hope it proves to have been a good move for him. Though I miss seeing BV and his intensity on our sideline, I don't think we've list much, if anything. And his success out there could well translate into stiffer competition for recruits who might go to AM or Bama so, his success can help. Not only, he gave us a lot if good while here and, nit unreasonably, saw a HC job he wanted to try. I wish him well.

And Hootie Ingram. For newbies he was the one who ditched the hill run entrance and other things that showed his very limited vision.

I have always and will always hate OU wish Brent the best and no ill will towards him but not going to stop hating OU because he’s there. Now Miguel on the other hand hope he gets everything that coming to him. Tony might be alright but he took one of the hardest jobs in CFB to start his HC career

With the salaries that are being paid now, some folks need to accept the fact that being a coordinator is not so bad. Some folks are not cut out to be a head coach now. With all the admin and other duties it is more of a job than most think. It takes a long time to adjust to the different areas of responsibility. I believe they need to take the Napier route to big time coaching---seems to have served him well. I hate to see the best D coordinator (IMO) be subjected to ridicule by the likes of Big Ears Feinbaum or Scott sitting there waiting to be fired. Elliott needed to move on and he will get enough time to get them back to a 8-9 win team in a few years, but BV won't get that time and sadly he can't just come back to Clemson.JMO.

His cheating a55 thought he couldn’t win a championship here but Danny showed we could. I didn’t care if he EVER won a game, same with the coots & cowboys.

Elliott as lone oc was terrible. There are 2 years of film showcasing his stagnant playcalling. For bonus material watch his post game interviews. He rarely, if ever blamed his mediocre playcalling. Always the player's fault. That is why I'm glad he is no longer here. He is getting a big payday from UVA, so good for him!

Venables went to OU. That is enough for me to not wish him anymore success than a 9 win season every year he is there. I actually hope he starts saving those losses closer to the end of seasons so it destroys Oklahoma fans' dreams of championships in glorious fashion! All "blue blood" fans act the same. I am quite happy Venables got his large check and his dream job though.
