Forgetting the long term, it seems to me a Clemson -ND ACCCG

Jul 26, 2020, 8:34 AM

Would help the Tigers this year. We need someone decent on the schedule for SoS.

UNC will be better and some programs are improving but this year this approach helps Clemson. I want to minimize excuses and open the door for more championships on our Dabo era.

Agree 100%

How does it help us to beat them twice?

Jul 26, 2020, 8:54 AM

We already play them in South Bend Bend in November (unless the ACC changes that). The only way it could possibly benefit us to play ND in the ACC Championship Game would be if we somehow manage to lose to them on the road.

Unlike many on these boards, I'm not even opposed to Notre Dame being eligible this year if they play a full slate of ACC regular season games. However, I'm not buying the premise that it helps our strength of schedule when we already play them in November.

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

Even if Swofford bends the knee and allows ND to compete

for a spot in the ACC Championship Game - I don't think it is a forgone conclusion that they will make it. There seems to be a lot of folks (particularly in Southbend) who believe that ND will just waltz right on through the ACC unencumbered to the ACCCG. Granted that ND has had a good run the last three years but if the last 25 years of ND football has taught us anything is that ND ain't waltzing through anything....

If ND is going to be a member of the ACC for football this season, they need to share their NBC dollars. They need the league more than the league needs them. I am sick of their partial conference affiliation. Their jugular is exposed and ND needs to join or move on.

NBC ND TV contract expires in 2025.
