For those that follow Net Rankings in college basketball

New Mexico has a lower Net ranking than we do. I use the eye test as the main influencer when trying to rank a team.

1. This is their first game all season against a team from the Power 5
2. All of their big "NET" games were in the MWC, which the committee did not seem to favor as a whole when you look at seeds. Lots of teams in, but not great seeds.
3. I don't know what will happen, but this is a game Clemson should win. We should win by 10+. If our regular season counts for anything, it should help us keep them at bay and pull away late.

Totally agree. Posted when it came out. They played Boise 3 times. First couple of games Boise handled them well. NM finally upset them in the tournament. We blew Boise out. Yes, it was a home game but the matchups is what they couldn't handle. Think we win easy. A lot to be said on playing tough p5 teams.
Now, little bro will be mad when we advance and they become the one and done. I'm glad we're not playing Oregon or miss st as was predicted by most services.

All of these things may be true... but the Athletic predicts that NM will upset Clemson, as the number 1 most likely upset.
By now, they have watched the video of the Notre Dame and BC games -- probably 10 times of each. And they now know if they clog the middle and crash the boards they will get lots of extra shots (only Shef makes rebounding a priority), make our inside offense fail, and put high pressure on our 2 guards to make 3-pointers. In this situation, Chase Hunter has fared very poorly, lately. Also, if they have a quick and tall defending guard, it becomes hard for Girard (he's too short) to get his shots, he rushes shots, and then he sometimes fares poorly. And when he is hitting, but the defender is good, he sometimes can't get enough shots to carry the team.
The Notre Dame film has become the blueprint on how to beat our team. The BBL has had no clue or the team hasn't been able to follow his plan. Either way, the games have been ugly for our team.

of the the 3 losses in March, only the BC game bothers me and I'm thinking that was more to do with a team being too lackadaisical against a team they beat already vs one playing much better with a full deck the second time around and desperate to keep their season going.
We played really well in Feb and against Syracuse the home game a week prior to the ACCT.
Time will tell. 75% of these NCAA games are pretty even matchups in my eye and picking a winner is a crap shoot. It's about matchups and who plays well that day. Clemson could beat probably every team in their region. I don't think there are many teams in that region you could say that about. However, we also could lose to probably 10-12 of them.

I don't think expecting closer to win by 10 plus is at all realistic. Look at Vegas Vegas has them as favorites by two and a half. They are the highest ranked 11 seed and they play a three guard offense and run. This will not be an easy game. This is not a should win.

But JK said we got the "toughest" #11 seed in the NCAAT.....this doesn't reconcile with your facts....
I know he's a shill, but honestly, to proclaim that UNM is the "toughest" #11 seed is a stretch by any measure.

LOL...ok then now that's funny right there. Maybe I just disagree with 95% of the garbage you post. Have you ever considered that possibility? Are you denying that you said UNM was the "toughest" #11 seed in the country? Or are you going to lie about that, too?

JK does indeed like to troll but in this case he provided a tweet which showed the net rating of all four 11 seeds. UNM did indeed have the best Net by a wide margin. Above you stated you like to use the eye test for rating teams but have many of their games have you watched? The Net is useful in part because it uses data given most people cant watch enough games for every team to draw a valid conclusion. Based on the Net and Vegas, UNM should win the game. Its also a valid point that they have not played a strong schedule (no P5 Teams) which should give us hope that our strong schedule will help us prevail.
A reasonable person could believe UNM is the better team while others could draw a different conclusion. Not sure why a Clemson fan would need to freak out at another fan because they simply presented data which does not support your narrative.

Last year, JK stated over and over again how flawed the NET was. Now it's ok to use it to justify his claim. Can't have it both ways.

My bad for not researching JKs tweets from past years. The net rating can certainly be questioned but most often it is questioned by fans whose teams lost to Quad 4 opponents.
My question for you, do you think the net is more accurate than the OP's eye test as if he watched a bunch of UNM games this season?
