The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning on Jan 9 for Pickens County.

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Anderson County in upstate South Carolina...
Oconee County in upstate South Carolina...
Pickens County in upstate South Carolina...

* Until 300 PM EST.

* At 1124 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
3.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Locally excessive runoff will linger across the Northwest Upstate
into the afternoon. Please remember to head any road closures in the
region and to avoid driving into water covered roads.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
