Howdy from Texas! My groomsmen and I are flying in for the Clemson-notre shame game in the first weekend in November and were looking for best places to visit and possibly someone to tailgate with. We promise we won't come empty handed. Just looking to enjoy all that you have to offer! Appreciate the help/advice!

Trust you Texans have a better game experience than one recently where some PennSt guys visited and game was at Noon vs weakly Wake Forest, fans were still eating/drinking in parking lots since upset with 3-2 team but it was Homecoming which was a bright spot.
The TNetters on here will graciously offer you a lot of things to do or see but understand we are at our best at 8pm games against good opponents (Domers fit that bill) and then at 3:30pm games.
Gotta go by The ESSO Club (outside or in) to have a cold brew & listen to a Redneck band which is 1 block from Stadium.. go downtown to tour shops (2-3 blocks away)..check out Tiger Walk on west side of stadium or Tiger Band coming down outer hill from John C Calhoun’s mansion named Fort Hill while playing Tiger Rag at 45 minutes b/4 kick-off..
and of course being in seat to see team pile out of buses, rub Howard’s chipped rock and then run/Jump/stumble down The HILL with Dabo leading them.
My fav upscale eating spots are: Calhoun Corners in 2-story mercantile warehouse OR Pixie & Bill’s (steaks) which are about 10 blocks from stadium out on Hwy 123 Bypass.
Welcome & enjoy!

If you guys don't want to stick out, I'd leave my J.R. cowboy hats, plaid shirts, supersized belt buckles, and boots at home. Baseball hats, any shirt with a tiger paw, small belt buckles, and walking shoes or hiking boots are what you'll need to fit in. You can thank me later. 😉

Haha don't worry about all that. We aren't those kinds of Texans. Simply coming out to enjoy what will hopefully be a phenomenal game and all the area has to offer

Assuming you will be there Friday night; Smokin' Pig is always a great stop but make sure you arrive 2 hrs before you are hungry as you will be waiting, but they have cornhole and other bar type activies and a good area to hang out outside if the weather is decent.

By the way, BBQ in SC is Carolina style and exactly as the name on the restaurant says...and as it should be...pig. Cows are used to make hamburgers and steaks around here, not BBQ. And we usually make some type of mustard-based sauce with a touch of vinegar to put on it. And we also put something called hash over rice to eat with it. Don't ask what's in hash.

I just finished a plate of hash and rice with my BBQ. Mustard > Vinegar for me. My wife doesn't agree.

Smokin Pig is good. Circle M is the best in the area. At least in my humble BBQ authoritarian opinion.

You will be welcomed everywhere you go. It’s the South. Thank You, Please, Yes Sir & Yes Ma’am will solve everything.
DONT BRING UP BARBECUE. South Carolina’s barbecue traditions pre-date Texas’ barbecue traditions by at least 150 years…..WE AINT HEARIN’ IT.
Welcome Y’all.

You DO NOT use beef and BBQ in the same sentence. Ain't nobody ever put a whole steer on a spit over hot coals. If youse think texas bbq is good, you think slop is good.

We land in Atlanta Thursday morning and then drive to Seneca where we'll be staying. From there it's really up in the air. When planning for this game the obvious hope is a night game on Saturday. We simply want to enjoy what y'all have to offer.

@rojogringo I'll be there as well. Go Tigers. My friend (lives in Greenville) is a huge ND fan. He's never been to Death Valley. Hope y'all enjoy!
