Hard to beat this Clemson Football memory

Tigernet posted this picture after the 2000 Clemson/SC game. My brother, Will, is wearing the orange sweatshirt.

He was 14 years old and this would be his last Palmetto Bowl. He tragically passed Sept 30, 2001, the Sunday after Dantzler beat the Jackets in Atlanta. A friend of a friend sent this to me this morning.

No one loved Clemson football more than he did.

A quick memory that will always stand out to me - when Marshall came to town and beat us in 1999, he was 13 and I was 9. He said to me, “Clemson will never be good like the days dad always talks about.” Boy, if he could’ve seen the last 10 years.

Tarts Bowl claiming they will, this year, have the FIRST EDIBLE MASCOT. The poster of that stated that we just played a team with an EDIBLE mascot....Your brother was ahead of his time. Sorry for your loss.

Memories are what you always have with you. The good ones you always share and the other ones, you grow from them. We don’t always understand the why, but you can always be sure you are NEVER given more than you can handle, from God’s perspective.

Thanks for being a friend and Go Tigers!

Wow, that really brought back some memories of “we chicken right.” As a Clemson kid, I remember that was a big part of the culture in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, there were a lot of t-shirts people would wear with that slogan and graphics of the tiger eating chicken strips. I miss that era sometimes, I know the team wasn’t always as successful, but that was an iconic time, big part of my childhood.
