So we are showing a lesser chance of beating the Coots than Fla. State? Who came up with this wizardry?

ranked after each one of them got blown out in each bowl game. (4 sec teams gave up the rushing records in their respective bowl). Also, eSECpn has an article with Malzahn saying how the west has a disadvantage because they beat up on each other. Are you freakin kidding me? They all had month to prepare for the bowl games and it didn't matter. It's crazy trying follow this logic, but to watch a network fall in and try to sell thus stupidity is amazing.

I beleive you are correct, it says we have less chance of

beating Miami on the road than we do Notre Dame at home. Has to be a road/home factor in there.

ESPN, please stop creating ANY college football analytics. Your torrid love affair with the SEC just makes all your projections look ridiculous. Your ranking of VT and Florida in the top 25 is completely laughable.

That includes the chance to play in the ACC title I assume.

How can you even respect ESPN when they put out crap like this. 8 out of top 17 are SEC that's a big LOL!

At what point does someone say
"Hey our new ranking has the entire SEC West in the top 10"
and not one person in a billion dollar industry goes
"I think we made a mistake"

How can you have a +50% chance to win each game
Jul 22, 2015, 8:42 AM

but only a 0.9% chance of winning out? Being a favorite isn't enough for at least 20-30%? I guess I need to buy the new Dell SEC Desktop Computer, like ESPN uses to produce statistics like those.

They ought to be in politics. Their reasoning matches some of what I've heard from that forum.

Just like flipping a coin, the chance that you get heads 4 times in a row is 6.25% (50% x 50% x 50% x 50%).
Doing the math for the regular season comes up with a 1.477% chance we win out during the regular season. If we win out during the regular season we would play in the ACCCG. This means that they have us projected as a 60.9% chance to win the ACCCG if we make it there, which puts us at a 0.9% chance of winning out.
I think this ESPN ######## is all a bunch of crap, but that is the math that gets you there and not to 20-30%.

But you are definitely kidding yourself if you think they don't sway towards the SEC.

Let me try to clear a few things up about this
Jul 22, 2015, 9:57 AM
|
|
1) This isn't a poll, it's some type of computer model running simulations.
2) The extra .4 of a game means that we are making the ACCCG and playing a 13th game in roughly 40% of the simulations.
3) Despite being a computer it's still overrating the SEC.

I have to think tosu would beat coots on a neutral field so I put them at 14 and coots at 15.
