Favorite Clemson player you ever met personally and why

I will start with football and because I am not a massage therapist, Deshaun Watson and CJ Spiller and Jacoby Ford were all super nice young men. We went to an open practice and CJ and Jacoby were there together and hanging out. Just talked briefly with both of them and they were super with my young teenage boys.
Basketball it was Demontez Stitt, Brian Narcisse and Trevor Booker. We were at the spring game and met them. At the time we were working as houseparent for children who did not have parents who could take care of them or whatever. I asked if we could take a picture and Stitt and Narcisse held the little boy up between them for the picture and to see all three of their smiles was priceless. I hate that the picture was lost on a broken phone.
Lastly, I will choose a couple coaches that I met. Tommy Bowden was a very nice man. I ran into him one morning at the gas station across the lake side from Clemson and he was going fishing. He wrote a note to my boys, who were not with me. The second time I met him was in his last year as coach and it was at his football camp. He came up to my little girl who was maybe 6 at that time and she was decked out in a pink CLemson Tiger cheerleading uniform, and he was like you gonna cheer for our Tigers one day little lady? I appreciated that a lot. That same camp I met Dabo Swinney. He was running the camp for Tommy pretty much. He was coaching my son's position group. I spoke to him in the dorm as the boys were packing up to leave and he was just a really nice guy. He didn't seem like he minded talking to everyone or anyone there. My son told me the story on the way home about him. He was running the camp basically, he did it all. One of the boys were upset about being away from home overnight and was up crying all night and he stayed up with him and played board games in the hall so that he wouldn't be upset. Was impressed and not surprised when he was named coach.
Anyways, tell me yours. Cannot wait to read about them.

Every time I see Tajh Boyd he is extremely nice. He is very personable and always smiling. I ran into Chad Jasmin a few times when he drove a Budweiser route. He was always nice as well. Met Lucas Glover a couple of times and he is an absolute jerk!

I met Tajh one time at Tiger Sports Shop. I walked up

to him and introduced myself and he immediately responded to me as Mr. Bryan. I apologized for disturbing him but I wanted to tell him much I admired him in the LSU game when they were trying to take his head off and how he stood his ground and brought us back to win. I thought that was one of the most courageous performances I had ever seen. When I told him thanks for talking and that I would let him go on he said, "No I enjoy talking to you." He then went on to carry on the conversation further. He never acted like I was a nuisance.

Tie between Dwight Clark, Raymond Priester

2

Feb 6, 2023, 11:04 PM

Jeff Bostic and Terrance Flagler.

Dwight Clark 1977 after the Duke game in Durham. Walking across the field, my dad just yelled out, Dwight can you come take a pic with these kids. He was a good ways away, but made a bee line straight to us and was very friendly, smiling the whole time. We win that day 17-11.

Terrance Flagler in Calhoun Courts 1984 when I was a student. Was in the laundry and I needed a dryer. All were full. When one stopped I took the clothes out so I could put mine in. But I would never just throw them out on the counter like some people. I was folding them when Flagler walked up. I thought oh brother, this might not be good. He was very nice, thanked me for folding them, apologised for leaving them sitting and we talked a while.

Raymond Priester at a prowl and growl in Atlanta on Lenox Road. It was at a nice hotel, introducing Tommy Bowden so must have been 1999. Priester sat there and ate with us and talked as if we knew each other from way back. He was an alum, but he and his wife were very active in supporting the football program..

Jeff Bostic kn the suite level concourse at the 2007 Peach Bowl. It was halftime and my dad and I needed to leave my uncle's suite to walk off some nerves. It was a tight game. Ran into Jeff Nostic and he and my dad talked most of the halftime about offensive line play. Again, he talked as if we'd known him all our life. We lost that game to Auburn in ot.

My son was on his team at a youth football camp. He had so much energy. The kids would have ran theu a brick wall for him. When playing swinney a less athletic kid scored a td and KJ ran onto the field picked the kid and ran around holding him in the air the kid loved it and made his day. All the other kids were cheering and screaming for him great moment. That my son said that kid wasn’t planning on coming back the last day until that happened. He was back at last day exited about being there and working hard. Son went to every camp that was his favorite and still talks about KJ to this day.

William Perry in the mall in Anderson Mall when I was 14 years old in the spring of 1982. He was with William Devane, they were incredible taking the time to talk to me with laughter & joy excited to talk about the National Championship game for about 15-20 minutes.

This is a conversation I’ll never forget how down to earth & personal they were freely giving of their time to a 14 year old kid.

Re: Chester McGlockton..Ronald Williams..Chris Whitney ---

Was at a party at an apartment complex...and I believe they used 3 connecting apartment units to pull this off....but me trying to get through the crowd I backed up into a dancing Chester McGlockton. He was like ""My bad little dude."" He was just talking about how he couldn't believe it was as packed in there like it was. A few minutes later Ed McDaniel got him to go with him somewhere.

I saw Ronald Williams on campus inside the lobby area of Tillman Hall one summer. Me and some friends was entertaining some females...and he walked in with his book bag and sat down with us and started entertaining the females as well. We all just mildly flirting with the girls for about 25mins.

Also upstairs in Tillman Hall we were watching the NBA finals....I think it was Bulls vs Lakers. Me and some other friends were up there and then a group of other people was up there. In that other group was Chris Whitney. That guy was funny. He had everybody laughing with his antics and the conversation topics we were all exploring.

Charlie Whitehurst was always super nice. I have met him quite a few times and he always took the time to chat.

On the flip side - Lucas McCay, director of recruiting for MBB, was always incredibly rude. He was a regular at the restaurant I worked in.

I met Chase Brice at a Five Guys in Athens, GA. It was 2018. I could not believe how big he actually was in person. He held the door for my wife when she walked in. Great manners. Talked to him about his throw in the Syracuse game. Great guy!

2010 some friends met us at the Maryland game. My Texas friend had a friend there who had been a Clemson long-snapper in the 80s (don't remember his name). He took us to the Player's Lounge (or whatever it was called). As Jeff Davis walked out the guy introduced us. Jeff couldn't have been nicer. My son, with my friend's son, got to hang out on the field a little and be there for the entrance. Must have made an impact - my son is now a Clemson grad.
