He was interviewing WR coaches literally minutes before he walked-in and told the team and his staff that he would be retiring which seems awfully abrupt. I don't think ANYONE at Alabama saw this coming.

I obviously don't know what happened. Did Saban got some concerning news about his health, or something similar that prompted such an unanticipated announcement? That said, I think most would have expected him to give a one year notice (i.e., 2024 will be my last season), so he could do a farewell tour.

I knew when he signed that 9 year extension and bought the 17 million dollar house in florida he was gonna go soon, many on here told me i was wrong. he probably had it set up in his mind a year ago probably 2.

I dont care how rich you are, nobody buys a house like that at his age to not live there. the extension thing was obviously pre meditated as well to get some more millions before checking out.
