Excuse 5 straight loses to SCAR? Never! But, it's hard to

overlook the fact that SCAR has had an average national ranking of #10 while Dabo has been our coach while they had an average national ranking of #35 while Danny was on the job.
Source ---> http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/sec/south_carolina/best_5_years.php
Another fact ... we have never beaten a "great" SCAR team. Of course, we have had precious few shots at "great" SCAR teams over the last 100+ years, but when we've face even a "very good" SCAR team, we've lost most of the time. All of our chances at "great" SCAR teams have come on Dabo's watch.

During their run...

only the Gamecocks could accomplish sooo much
(Three 11 win season in a row, top 10 finishes, 5 in a row over the Tigers)
And have sooo little to show for it.
No BCS wins/appearances, no championships, no conference titles)

This year but won our conference.
I imagine you would be saying, "yeah they won a conference championship but it isn't like they were any good."

Best time in Scar history but also best run in clemson history, stat wise and win totals
Time for a win to shut it down. Otherwise it is simply weak apologists making excuses looking like typical losers.
I saw a Clemson family lean over a shake the hands of the Gcock family in front of them in DV and wish them luck in the bowl game and it was reciprocated.
That is not a person capable of making excuses about 6 turnovers etc, or the nat champ run was better than anything we have done lately and they weren;t beating us then.
That person next to us at that game just exudes class and understands you get one shot and that is it. haven;t missed that game in years in both stadiums. I have seen UGA fans escorted out in cuffs but it doesn't mean they are all criminals. Just like the people who fill both stadiums are not like idiots on websites. If the wackos on here could afford to fill the stadiums we would be in trouble. Fortunately both stadiums are filled with 90% normal football fans while the knuckleheads are left on their hand me down computer from their neighbor who actually went to one of the schools

I agree, this is not as good as our 80's run.

Our line has just gotten to the point of being able to dominate as we did over many years in the 80s. Would you agree with that? Also, would you agree both sides of our line as a whole are the best we've been since Dannydays?
This run isn't over. Actually, I'll be kinda sad when Dabo takes over as the best coach Clemson has ever had.

WR, QB better than 80s, DL close, but rest 80s better.

Overall 80s were more dominating. Take the ball at the end and never give it back which was known as "marching to glory". We would go on the road and "empty the stadium". If they had to pass, they couldn't beat us back then.

our o-line is better at pass blocking, not quite as good

in the run blocking dept.,and a lot of this is the schemes we do/did run, imo. i do agree wholeheartedly that our d-line is as dominate right now as any time in our history. dabo may very well break clemson's win total, but i am not sure if he will ever be more respected here than danny ford, or frank howard.

esteem. I don't compare coaches from different eras. It's not fair. Frank never had opportunity to play 13 or 14 games in one season. Danny didn't have the cooperation Dabo now has. Danny also had a great advantage over Dabo because he had linemen developing when he came in. He took our team when it had lots of undeveloped talent.
Different era and different circumstances. Nobody will replace Frank and Danny in my heart. I suppose when we old guys die off there'll be a new crew who'll respect the both of them the way we do. I'd think Dabo will be in the mix with them and for the newer guys he may be their favorite.
Personally, Dabo has won my heart with his dedication, integrity and love for everything Clemson. He's already my favorite.

Our D is good, but they aren't 80's good. No sir.

I don't think this D line is THAT dominant yet. No chance. A dominant D line looks like our '89 team: Chester McGlockton, Rob Bodine, and Vance Hammond. Not to mention our LB crew: Ed McDaniel, Levon Kirkland, Doug Brewster, and Wayne Simmons. And top that off with Arlington Nunn and James Lott at saftey. Now that was a defense!!
If you get the chance to rewatch the '89 Gator against WVU, I highly recommend it.

to make it in the nfl (and he had a whale of a pro career, too) bodine was all-acc. i think we have slightly more than that right now as beasley, jarrett, lawson and crawford (at least these 4) will all play on sundays. i agree about the lb's and secondary being better on the '89 squad.i also agree that the d as a whole was better back then, but not the d-line by itself, as we did lead the ncaa last year in tfl's and were close to the top in 3 and out's forced.

straight since we had enough quality O players alone to win 2 of the 5, at least...but p*issed our chances away with fumbles (2009 & 2013) & bone-headed mistakes.
Granted, Coach Spur is an Offensive near-genius..and calls the plays off-cuff from what he feels or sees on the field at that moment..and being an ex Heisman QB this really is a gift & talent few other HC's have.
He's had stoudt lines, better than average QB's who get it done, good RB's and some really good LB'ers & DB's..and the rankings have shown it.
I know it's difficult for me & other Clemson people to accept this fact, but we haven't been terrible ourselves, just against them when it counted.
Dabo has nightmares over this 0-5 record..and knowing that little sly Bama fox this won't go on much longer.
GoTiGERS!

We're still out recruiting you, we still have one of the best game day environments in the country... and we also still have lots more trophies (new additions) & national respect.
Teams don't want to play us. Usc Jr has never beaten a top 20 football team in a bowl game.
Can someone look up whether there's ever been a top 5 team to beat a team ranked outside of the top 20 in their bowl game?
You team and program are both a joke. Arkansas was good for a few years too... but they actually went to a BCS game. Hahaha... cursed is the coot program. Enjoy the improved SEC east w/o Shaw. Slurrier will have a heart attack this year in the midst of y'alls 7-6 campaign
