Stones, but now I love it. Since ESPN used it as their bumber music during the National Championship Game, the song will always bring back awesome memories. It is just a rockin song to me now.

Magazine said of the song, "The Stones have never done anything better" and ranked it as the #38 song on its top-500 hits of all time.
It sure shot up my charts after Monday night!

Fun fact: Merry Clayton, the lady who sang backup on Gimme Shelter, later sang backup on Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama.

And she did a take and they didn't think it was that great. She said she told the band "I'm about to blow the doors off this And she did.

She did that take with so much passion and emotion, it caused her to have a miscarriage.

Those speakers in the background look exactly like the Radio Shack specials I bought in 1976. Just retired them last year.

I saw the Stones in DV in 1989 on Steel Wheels tour. Really good song. It has an great guitar lick that is catchy.

Stones. Never more than that night. The reverb and tone of the guitar in the beginning is great

Maybe that should be the song played when the Tigers are at the top of the hill.

it would be good if the band could play it at certain points in the game. Maybe on 3rd down or 4th, or as the 4th quarter is ending. But Tiger Rag when they are at the top of the hill is the only way to go.

The Orange Bowl March is played while the band is forming the tunnel and the team gathers at the top of the hill. When the cannon fires and signals the team to run down, then Tiger Rag is played.

Very few bands can match the raw emotion of that song.
Love The Stones....but that song is simply a rock n roll classic despite your view of The Stones.
Loved it as related to the Natty

Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed and Sticky Fingers represent (IMO) the zenith of The Stones r'n'r creative output...To be certain, there are numerous excellent tunes before and after those 3 albums, but those truly stand out

The Stones don't get nearly enough credit for the amount of studio work that went into their albums. Frankly, I find their music way more relistenable than the Beatles catalogue.
