CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – ESPN announced on Saturday, Dec. 9, that ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will broadcast live for the first time from Dublin, Ireland, for the Week 0 Aer Lingus College Football Classic featuring ACC rivals Florida State and Georgia Tech on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, to kick off the 2024 season.

“There’s no better way to kick off the 2024 football season than having ESPN’s College GameDay make its first trip outside the US to showcase Florida State and Georgia Tech competing in Ireland,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “This game is an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes, coaches and fans, and we look forward to GameDay being on site to highlight our teams, conference and college football.”

This will mark the first time that ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will be outside of the United States.

College GameDay and the Seminoles-Yellow Jackets game will air on ESPN platforms. Times to be announced closer to the season.

Florida State, which was part of ESPN’s College GameDay premiere show in 1993, will make its 35th appearance. Georgia Tech will be making its sixth appearance on the pregame show. This will be only the second time GameDay has been at the site of this ACC rivalry matchup with the lone meeting in 1998.

GameDay broadcasted from an ACC location twice during the 2023 season, beginning with Week 1 from Romare Bearden Park in Uptown Charlotte on Sept. 2, where North Carolina defeated South Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Classic inside Bank of America Stadium. GameDay also made its first-ever visit to Duke for the Blue Devils’ Sept. 30 clash with Notre Dame in Durham, North Carolina.
