Ending of Clem-WF and Miami-GT

I thought I was over reacting in our game. About 50 seconds left, 1st down, WF has one time out and we run the ball instead of taking knees.
Then the Miami-GT game happens. It is astounding that with all of the coaches on the sidelines, that there is not one coach dedicated to adding 40+40+… and subtracting by their timeouts based on time and distance.
It rarely affects the outcome, until it does. Glad it wasn’t my tigers that got bit.

The 2 situations were different. We needed a first down to force them to use their timeouts and for us to run the clock out. If we just took a knee they could stop the clock and force a punt.

So, this is the time after Mafah slides according to YouTube condensed game. (Attached, 1:21 left) Running clock, 1st down, WF has 2 timeouts. A delayed knee takes two seconds off the clock, and assume you can run 39 seconds after the play. Or all 40 and take the delay of game for all I care. By going to 4th down, they use both timeouts, and we take off 2 sec per snap for 6 sec, plus 39 plus 39 equals 1 minute and 24 seconds, greater than 1:21 that is left. We ran the ball twice when we didn’t need to.

Dabo does this from time to time. We had many deep subs in like it was a blowout. The defense got gashed on zone all game. When we went cover zero and sent the house wake went backwards. Dabo gave Wake an opportunity to win the game. Prevent defense with scrubs in a two score game is crazy. Ask Duke if it worked for them! 4th and 17 and Duke drops into prevent. When zero coverage with all our pressure was shutting ND down. Dabo has almost been snake bit a half dozen times by taking his foot off the throat. Miami game SHOULD serve as a wakeup. One can only hope.

Game should not have been that close to begin with. GT lost to Bowling Green two weeks ago but how about that GT TRANSFER QB from aTm!

game. Another improbable GT win.
Tied 16-all with seconds left and undefeated FSU trying for a winning FG. It’s blocked! Rolling ball is on the GT 22 yd line! Pawl Johnson, content for OT, yells at his player to “get down” but the player scoops & runs! After a couple of missed tackles Johnson is now yelling “run, run, run!” He scored and GT wins 22-16 ending FSU’s CFP hopes.
Unbelievable GT does it again against Miami this time!

Miami called timeout and run the ball and the runner got stripped ... AND they gave up what 70 yards on 2 plays?
Our situation:
1 Score game.
Play 1. Mafah runs for 19 yards.. goes down in bounds... clock stops on the first. 40 second play clock. 1:29 on the clock. Ball on wake 21.
Play 2. Mahfah runs for 6 yards to Wake 15. 40 second play clock.
Wake takes final timeout. 47 seconds on the clock.
Play 3. Mahfah 4 yards for a 1st down at Wake 11. Clock stops on 1st down. 40 second play clock.
Play 4. Cade takes a knee.
Time runs out.
Win.
We either trust our offense or we do not.
None of this changes the mentality argument.
