Officials in SEC can’t be any better then ACC. How do you go from inadvertent whiles to backwards pass and change of possession? These guys are not even real!

They screwed the pooch with the early whistle and initial explanation. Should have just gone straight to review. Got the call right finally IMO, but early whistle prevented a return.

But, I always hate when the rule applies to situations like this. The whistle clearly influenced play as neither the receiver or 2 of the defenders picked went after the ball. A third defender ran in (and good on him for doing so), but in plays like these the whistle clearly influenced action on the field as to the recovery.

With that said, hope kiffen loses this game

It was a clear recovery by the defense. I'm not sure if I'd call an immediate one... when the defender was ten yards away

OK, it was a backward pass, which is in effect a fumble.

BUT THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE RECOVERY.

Since the whistle was blown the players stopped. The two guys closest to the ball (one on each team) pulled up and just stood there. A third player came over and picked up the ball. He didn't dive for it. He just strolled over and picked up the ball.

There was no immediate recovery. That's where the replay booth blew it.

You ask these kids (who are going about 100 miles an hour) to play within the whistles and you penelize them if they don't.

Then they DO play within the whistles and you penelize them for THAT - and cost them the game.

It’s the SEC…..they just make it up as they go along, until the desired result is produced.
It would be nice if they’d list….
A - the rules they’re going to ignore today.
B - the new rules they’re going to invent today.
C - the exact date that the replay official became legally blind.
D - the fabulous prizes that “the boys” received for fixing the final result.
