DRad is Director of Athletics not just football

I see a lot of talk in here about people only wanting DRad to be concerned about football and leave all other sports on their own in Jervey. When is the last time you walked in Jervey? It is not exactly a "state of the art" building. I have no problem in throwing some cash at other sports. That's what you have to do in order to have that sport be a winner long term.

In order to complete in the NCAA, they require schools to field a certain number of teams. I think that number is 12 teams. How many times do people fuss in here about soccer and baseball not being where they use to be and us dropping mens swimming and wrestling. So DRad comes along and tries to fix some broken parts and what happens......people in here fuss about it.

The athletic department has to be run like a business. You can't just throw a lot of cash at things that you are going to break even or lose money on. Football creates funds for so much more than just football and the athletic department. If you want more money, invest in football and win, win big. If you look at alabama, Saban is under compensated for the revenue he brings to that university.

I'm with you on the majority of your post. I would say that most feel TDP was hired to Fix football and DRad has now been hired to fix everything else no that our primary revenue stream is secure. So i think a lot of people just want to see the football plan finished this year before moving on. Although it might be hard to argue that football isn't completely fixed after we win in Pasadena this year.

I like the idea of the perpetual locker room redo, delayed oculus, and the stringent security for the rock (aka nonworking security camera). All are real gems. ;)

or volleyball. Very few people give darn about any sports besides baseball, football, basketball.

Of course we wanna be great in all sports, but I'll trade 11+ win seasons in football for a losing record in all other sports any day of the week.
