I liked the atmosphere and setting, but the plot is all over the place, and the ending I know you'll hate.

So far I've heard everyone bag on season 2, and I even liked that one, but all over the place is a good way of putting just how I thought the first episode was.

Started the same last night. Not sure I'm down with it either.
Season 1> Season 3> Season 2. Suspect already just 10 minutes in that Season 4 is a dog.
My favorite part of the first 3 seasons was in Season 3 when the cop went into the bar and insulted the biker crowd. Though he got his ### beat as it appeared that was what he was after, that was some funny dialog directed towards the biker and his girl aka the Wooly Mammoth.

and to get extreme, it's an abomination that show is part of the true detective series.
should've just called it night country or something, like a paranormal maire of east town or whatever, and I would've like it better.
given the cast, the setting, even the tee up after ep 1 for the plot....had a lot of promise.
very average, lazy writing. waste of good cast. doesn't hold a candle to Seasons 1 - 3.

Acting, characters, setting and visuals were all great. You can pick holes in the plot and pacing, sure, but not really different than other good shows.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to like something they don't like. It's not for everyone. But I enjoyed it.
