United is specific to a team somewhere in Europe and the way they merged or something. Kind of like the Steelers, Packers, or 49ers are all names specific to certain towns/regions for certain reasons. Steel manufacturing in Pittsburgh, meat packing in Green Bay, or the gold rush of 1849 in California. We not only need to arbitrarily change the name, but we need to steal a name that is specific to another team/region, yet has absolutely nothing to do with our team/region.

It’s what our defensive line should do about holding every play, make a big deal out of it with their arms so the ref can’t ignore everyone’s game plan against out defense. Hold on for dear life, go back and watch our opponents offensive line the last five games.
The boards main issue’s are changing signage and painting the field with the new letters. They only needed two molds before(AC) now they have to break out three(SEC).

I have a relative who works with the soccer team and I asked her about that "name" thing and she said it is something the kids like. My first impression was "Screw the kids, We are the Clemson Tigers"......but I kept my mouth shut for the sake of family unity. I still think to name any Clemson team anything other than Tigers sets an awful precedent and needs to be stopped immediately!

Nor is it an initiative by the soccer program to created to show the team, fans and school are “United”. The soccer team changed the name simply because the kids liked it.
Sounds about right.

The use of the term United is a soccer thing, which probably makes it better for recruiting. I agree they should just be the tigers, but I’ve got a lot of better things to worry about.
