Steam mops, are they worth it?

Sep 3, 2014, 12:15 PM

My children are currently using an old school swiffer with the separate wet and dry pads to clean my laminate floors. After adding an additional 4 kitties, this just doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Now, my question is whether or not investing in a steam mop would be a worthwhile upgrade for my sla.....err children? Any recommendations on a particular brand?

Thanks internet friends!

I feel like the cleaning solution and mopping pads

Sep 3, 2014, 12:24 PM

could add up. Some of the steam mops I've looked at have machine washable pads, and just use water. This seems like a cost saver in the long run.

You can't place a price on a clean floor.***

had one and didn't like the streaks it left on wood

Sep 3, 2014, 12:21 PM

Maybe it won't do that on melamine laminated laminates. It's great on tile.

if you'd like a woman's opnion, thats kept house for 30 yrs

Sep 3, 2014, 12:23 PM

laminate floors suck, you should have hardwood in every room except the kitchen and bathroom; those should be tiled.

Yeah, I said hardwood.

Do some of you people have baby feet or something?

Sep 3, 2014, 12:35 PM [ in reply to If I had hardwood in the bedroom, I'd never get out of bed ]

I see this complaint on remodeling shows all of the time when people want heated floors. I can't remember the last time my feet were actually cold. I could wake up with snow on the floor and not have an issue getting out of bed because my feet were cold. I've never understood this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, I hardly want to get out of bed anyway.***
