All jokes aside, he played for Clemson. He loves Clemson. Was rooting he'd improve his craft. But 4 years as a starter and his delivery, nor his decision reads have improved. If anything, diminished slightly.

I would love to see him hang the pads up after this game and immediately work all spring with a baseball trainer. It'd be a tough tough road but he'd get picked up by a 2A team imo... and who knows. Just may end up being the next Spencer Strider. Good luck young man. You repped the paw with integrity and character.

always remain convinced that it was a huge misrecruitment on Clemson's part that brought him east.

Likewise, I believe Dabo was trying to be more than fair with him, so DJ has to be grateful for that. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, more than grateful, because a coach like Nick Saban or Steve Spurrier would have pulled him off the field a long time before Dabo did in the S.C. game last year, a game I have no doubts we would have won with someone else up under center.

Those thoughts are why I suggested a long time ago that his Daddy, Big Dave, needed to keep his big mouth shut, something DJ may have also wished.

The football world thought Dabo had hit on 3 QB in a row. Goodness knows I did.


He is a Clemson Man. Wish him all the best in wherever his journey takes him.

A baseball team did draft him. I would like to see him pursue baseball full time as well.

Doesn’t he still have eligibility in that sport? Could he pursue his masters degree?

Great question. And you know what, if his dad had a brain... well that ship may have sailed. But someone like Dabo (and I'm sure Dabo has talked with him) should encourage him to play for Oregon St this spring. Good thought.
