Defense Targeting

Nov 9, 2014, 12:49 PM

On the subject: Targeting, there were a huge amount of targeting going on Thursday in the Clemson/Wake game. It was obvious from the first series to the last. But it was not by Smith or any other player on either team. It was the Clowns in black and white.
I recorded the game on DVR and spent most of Friday reviewing the game. Every flag pulled on Clemson could have been pulled on the Wake defense, but was ignored. Only the very obvious infractions was called on Wake. Holding against Wake could have been called on about half of Clemson plays.
The last time I saw a game where the officials were determined to decide the outcome of a game was against Danny Ford (Clemson) in 1983 and 1984.

I must say that I agree 100%. The good news is, like the Danny Ford teams of the 1980"s. WE STILL WON.

I watched the game, again today and will never believe
that Robert Smith did anything wrong. If he had hit
the receiver with the crown of his helmet,i would
think another way.Right before the hit,Robert turned
his head and the lick was from the side of the helmet
and more in the face mask of the wake receiver. It was
a bang, bang play.Robert is not the kind of player to
issue a dirty hit.On one offensive play, two Wake defensive
lineman, were holding one of our lineman on the ground. No
flag.Oh well,we won.

Did you forget about the Orange Bowl last year?

Those officials were trying their best to give the game to OSU
