Deer Vic Beasley

Please research Damontre Moore (another skinny DE/OLB that put up huge numbers at A&M only to sink like a stone down the draft board). Please get in the weight room and see how many reps of 220 you can put up. If it's less than 15, you probably need to come back. Also, get on the track and check out that 40 time. You're going to need to run around a 4.6. If the NFL is going to roll the dice on a skinny end/Olb they are going to need you to be an athletic freak during the combine.

Dabo: "Well Vic have you decided on the draft for this year?"

Vic: "Well I was going to go in the draft this year, but then I was reading TigerNet..."

Just messing with you Drew... you made valid points, I hope he comes back.

Just saying

Vic better put up the numbers in the combine if he's going to turn pro. They are really going to look at his bench press numbers. Guys with his build (long arms, skinny body) don't usually do well. It's possible he will be drafted higher this year, but I think another year in college would help assure he sticks in the NFL. The NFL isn't about training up first round draft picks and letting them develop.

It's more than 15. This guy is a beast in the weight room. Saw him over the summer at Fike putting up 225 easy.

No doubt he can put up 225

Oct 29, 2013, 10:48 AM

It's question of how many times he can put it up.

Re: No doubt he can put up 225

Agreed. NFL teams are not going to judge Vic Beasley on his number of reps of 225 but on how consistent he is defending the run and defeating double teams.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If he doesn't put up 15-17 reps

Oct 29, 2013, 11:09 AM

He won't be a first round pick.

I would be surprised if he was not faster than 4.6. The guy is real quick, and came in as a running back.

Came in as a TE

He played some RB in high school. He didn't stay on the offensive side of the ball long. And he moved from LB to DE. I am not sure what his speed is. I know he is quick but straight ahead I don't know what he would time.
