247Sports' biggest trap game for Clemson

247Sports identified the biggest trap game for each ACC team earlier this month and came out with this one for Clemson:

CLEMSON: VS. NORTH CAROLINA (NOV. 18)

The Tigers thumped the Tar Heels in the ACC Championship Game last season, but UNC returns Heisman hopeful Drake Maye, making anything possible when Mack Brown and company roll into Death Valley in 2023.

The Tar Heels added the portal's No. 2 wide receiver in Kent State transfer Devontez Walker, who could pose a problem for a Clemson defense that ranked No. 8 in the ACC against the pass last season. UNC also made a significant change at offensive coordinator, hiring Chip Lindsey, whose UCF Knights finished No. 11 in the nation in total offense last season (480.6 ypg.).

I generally don't feel like a game at DV is a trap game

I'm honestly more concerned about coming out of the gate clunky in game 1 at Duke. They were much improved last year. Mike Elko has a really good coaching resume and looks like a great hire.

I think @ NCSU is by far our biggest trap game. That game is sandwiched between our road trip to Miami and home game against Notre Dame. NCSU has a bye week while we're in Miami.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

never forget that NCST has blown it twice. missed 23 yarder to win it with the game sealing pick in OT. then another OT loss.

That’s a good choice but don’t discount Syracuse on September 30. On the road against a team we don’t play well against. This coming after a crucial and emotional game the week before against Florida State. This schedule is definitely not as easy as years past.

DBs and WRs

The only thing I'm really worried about this season is our WR core and our DB core. Both were unreliable at best last year, which is a far cry from what we've been used to for the past 5-8 years. Hoping they've put in the work and matured this offseason

Drake Maye is a solid QB, but I like our chances - especially with a retooled offense.
