Db situation next year

Jan 4, 2016, 5:58 AM

Worst case scenario: mac, kease. Tankersley, tj green, travis blanks bolt for nfl. This is very possible and it would, in my opinion, make us average at best next year. We are very deep but not at the defensive back position. That would leave us van smith, kaleb chalmers, jadar johnson, korrin wiggins (if healthy), jefferie gibson, adrian baker, mark fields and the nightmare ryan carter. Not terrible but listen, they dont have backups! It will be a glaring weakness on d. In this case, unless we get the dbs mullen or the michIgan guy our secondary may be good but theyre going to be exhausted from lack of depth. I think the legacy corners dawkins and trapp can actually contribute if they hit the weight room hard and keep their speed. I mean think about it, we have alot of tailbacks on our roster. Cant believe we dont lose either choice or dye to transfer. But on the bright side 2017 and 18 we are owning in recruiting I think we have offered over 20 dbs between both 17 and 18. Our staff sees it coming too. Maybe ray ray and lasamuel davis can play some db for us

Seriously? I dont see Tankersly jumping and I dont see TJ Green jumping. They may, but in any case, we are solid in the secondary. Fields, Baker, can and will man the corners. Gibson and Smith can man the safety's. Carter is not the disaster YOU want to make him out to be. Wiggins will come back strong. Muse will settle in nicely at safety. Blanks was already leaving. We dont really know about Kearse, Green Alexander, Tank. They COULD all jump to the NFL but not likely all of them. We are to the point of reloading, and not with 2-star blanks like the coots.

I agree...Chalmers can flat out play, and remember when...

so many of us were excited about getting Fields? Well, I still am! Kearse may well jump to the NFL, but imo, if he's smart he'll come back and improve his draft position like Lawson did. Don't think we'll lose all the others, but we should be solid at DB next season.
Not sure who we're bringing in, but I trust our coaches to be prepared.
Go Tigers!!

Van Smith is going great one. I don't think he meant "nighmare" in a derogatory was regharding Ryan Carter, think he was saying the dude brings the wood. I think MA, TB, all would benefit another year in college, except Kearse is NFL ready. Hopefully he will come back like Spiller and others have done to enjoy college,
