He's the Coordinator not the Coach.

Different coaches handle different aspect of Special teams.

Pretty sure Venables handles kickoffs

It's a sideline for him, along with coaching tight ends.

we need a specialist - someone who does ONLY special teams.

so which coach do you get rid of to do that?
It's not a realistic plan.

Whom would you let go so we could get someone who only does ST?

I think we have a pretty tight crew. Awesome position coaches, incredible offense and defense. Wouldn't want to mess that up.

Maybe the crew we have LEARNS how coach special teams? I'm sure there are seminars, etc. They've obviously got their core duties down pat, so maybe devote some time to that this off season.

Why? Have you looked at the setup of the programs who ranked in the top 10 of special teams efficiency this year? ....like OSU, UNC, ND, TENN, etc? All of them have the same structural set up like we do with a position coach who is the coordinator.
