Dabo's comments and some Clemson people....

The problem with Dabo's comments regarding Clemson infrastructure is not what he said, because it is all true.
But, the Pumpers do not want to believe it or hear it,
Of course this post will get one of the standard "tell em Coot" comments, but that could not be farther from the truth.
A real Clemson fan only wants our university to be the best. If that means new buildings, renovations, etc, so be it.
There is a lot of competition in the marketplace. The Littlejohns, the Shoeboxes, the Lever Halls of the world will not be what it takes to stay on top.

50 years ago there was complaining among the students, faculty and alumni about the tin cans and various other structures on campus.
The library was roundly panned as being an eyesore, as was LJ....Heck, even then the smokestacks were subject to attack, as were the unsightly married students' housing area.
The fact is that most universities undergo constant construction, some good, some not so good, some bad. And Clemson is no different.

A typical Pumper will see no wrong in anything Clemson, they have the attitude "all is glorious".
We have no areas we can improve.
At least IMO.

You can pass this along to Dabo as well.
Clemson University is currently in early stages of building not one, not two, but three brand new dormitories as well as a new cafeteria where the old Johnstone buildings once stood. Part of the building that houses the cafeteria will be solely dedicated to student-athletes with tutors, study halls, etc.
#### with your pumper garbage until you know the whole story.

Hey, all you guys calling for massive increases in our spending on facilities in response to one comment from the football coach, make sure you're not also the guys whining that Clemson's tuition went up again. Wait...who did you think would pay for it? The State!?! Ha ha ha! Oh, come on guys.
Besides, as noted above, Clemson spends tons on facilities. When is there NOT construction going on at the campus?
And exactly when did we stop competing with South Carolina? Are we not still THE destination for the best and brightest in the state? Do we need to become MORE selective?
This is a non-issue. Dabo probably should have thought twice before making the comment. Love the guy...just don't think this was his place to comment on publicly.
