My "opinion" is that it should be a rule across the landscape, not just Clemson. They will have to figure out ways to regulate it or college football is doomed to never be what it was before NIL. Just an opinion is all. I can see a player hopping more than once, sit out year or not, just to take advantage of what is now uncontrolled chaos.

Because they don’t pay the players they can’t regulate it. SCOTUS basically said this very thing. NIL is separate from the school and the NCAA.

there has to be some type of governance with it. The question is how long is it going to take to put something in action. I can understand if Dabo doesn't want to initially give transfers NIL money, with the chance to earn it in the future.
It makes sense from a locker room perspective.

It seems implied in your response that Clemson has no money to offer. While I know (and support) Dabo's position regarding culture, I cannot believe he and the AD havent come up with something that would see us able to compete. Obviously there are schools with deeper pockets than Clemson, but its not like we have nothing to work with.

It supports their internal dialogue that we became an elite football program by working harder than everyone else, and had nothing to do with many millions of dollars spent on the program (much of which came from Clemson alums and fans).

What is your statement based on?
We are still signing recruiting classes ranked in the top 10, and you can bet that all of the high profile recruits have NIL deals. NIL isn't hurting us.
