We have close friends who left Cuba as it was falling to communism. They literally weep for America because they see the same events and same ideology gaining power. Their words, “we have seen this before and it ends badly”.

What a callous and ignorant remark. Both came from Cuba with their families when in their early teens. They came from wealthy , business owner families. They had a prosperous life in capitalist Cuba. Then that changed. They were allowed to leave Cuba under the watchful eye of armed thugs. They left their homes, businesses, friends, everything! They were allowed to carry one suit case of clothes. No money, nothing. The parents arrived in Miami with nothing and the once prosperous parents began working any minimum job they could find. They pulled themselves together and eventually created a new life in America.
Movie? Yeah whatever ! They’ve seen the work of the left. It’s why the left fears Cubans. They get it. They have seen the tactics. They have lived it.
Morons? Hardly. You should know them. Maybe even you would be inspired.

Yeah, they are morons if they believe somebody is planning a communist takeover of this country. And you might be one too if you believe that fantasy.
The real danger is that the authoritarian tendencies of our vocal minority of MAGA conservatives leads to a semi-fascist state. It's some of the same people who supported the fascists before WWII, except this time I think the Bushes are on the right side.
