covid and recruiting

Not sure how much I have seen this discussed. Dabo has always said if he can get a recruit on campus then we have a shot. During covid I think we basically had two full years that we couldn't get the recruits on campus.

Is it at least possible that a dip in results was tied to this dip in recruiting? The guys we got last year were playmakers during this season and were recruited during campus visits.

Just my thoughts.

Wouldn't th Class SIGNED Feb 21 be the ones that couldn't visit in 20 ?

The bottom end of the 22 class, that needed RS should be more active next year

Plus ,Clemson never had a team with 56 four stars and above on it till now

Not all kids come in READY. College life away from Mom, speed of the game and several other things contribute to them Maturing.

If Clemson doesn't suffer MASSIVE Portal exits and still has 85 on Signing Day, the sky won't fall.

Who knows what will happen with Dabo giving the 25 days left to prove you belong speech and playing the Youngins. Hold Tight

Actually, two things happened which greatly impacted Clemson. One was covid and the other was NIL.

Covid hurt CU more than other schools as we sell family and culture. These things don't present well on a skype call. The guys we needed as leaders the past couple of years would have been juniors and seniors which were lacking. There has been a big uptick of talent based on the last class and also he upcoming class.

Clemson was late to the table on NIL as larger, richer schools had boosters waiting with tons of cash. they were also willing to pay upfront. It seems we have closed the gap but look no further than our WR talent (a position which draws significant NIL $) where our underclassmen are significantly more talented than our upper classmen.
