That one was a little too close for comfort if they have to engage the CIWS.
I'm sure more than one crew-member had to change their britches after that. I think that's the first time that a US warship has ever had to use CIWS to shoot down an inbound missile.
The article says that we don't want a war with Iran. Who wants a war with anyone?? But if the Iranian backed Houthi are going to keep firing at our and other ships - maybe we need to step up the game a little bit and take a lesson from Vietnam that restricted warfare doesn't always get the job done. Not saying all-out war (don't want to be called a warmonger!), but clearly something more is needed to make that area safe.

the US should not be burning treasure keeping the shipping lanes open so the chinese can ship their goods to europe
especially when china is supporting iran buying their oil so they can launch missiles at us ships
makes no sense

The attacks will continue until and unless we act forcefully in such a way that Iran realizes it is not worth the pain inflicted on them for continuing to support, supply and train their proxies to attack our assets.
No sane person wants war, but a strategy of verbal condemnation and limited military response to the 160+ attacks has done zero to influence Iran to behave.
It shouldn't have taken the deaths of 3 troops and several dozen injuries to up the ante. Unless there is a forceful response, nothing changes and eventually there will be more Americans coming home in metal coffins.
This is a problem that will not go away by playing nice. It is time for us to escalate our actions. Biden has been super cautious to the point of inviting more aggression from Iran.

Biden should go back and study what Reagan did in 1988 in Operation Praying Mantis.
I suspect we’ll hit multiple proxy facilities perhaps over several days even, but seriously doubt we directly hit Iranian assets.
Biden, Blinken, John Kirby and other Pentagon spokesmen all are repeating the mantra that we don’t want to escalate the conflict. Why say that unless the response we take is not directed at the source of the weapons of war used against us?
