Clemson SC—After winning its first tournament of the year at Briar’s Creek in Johns Island, SC last week, the Clemson men’s golf team returns to action Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 19-21, at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Panama City, Fla. The Watersound includes some of the most traditional golf programs in the nation. The field includes Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and host school Florida State.

The tournament will be played on the par 72 Shark’s Tooth Golf Club Black course that was designed by Greg Norman and measures 7,246 yards.

Clemson will feature a lineup that includes Andrew Swanson and Thomas Higgins. Both players finished in the top four at the Battle at Briar’s Creek, the first time Clemson has had two top four finishers in the same tournament since March of 2022 when Colby Patton and Zack Gordon were co-medalists at the Wake Forest Invitational on Pinehurst #2.

Swanson has a 72.00 stroke average for the year and five under-par rounds, while Higgins has 72.38 average and four under-par rounds. They each have three rounds in the 60s so far this year.

Jonathan Nielsen, who has the top stroke average on the Clemson team this year at 71.46, also will be in Jordan’s Byrd’s lineup. Nielsen has two top 10 finishes this year, a sixth-place at The Blessings and an eighth-place at the Golf Club of Georgia in consecutive tournaments last October.

Alberto Dominquez, who had a pair of counting scores of 75 at Briar’s Creek, also will be in the lineup at the number-four position. Red-shirt junior Kian Rose, who is a veteran of 25 tournaments and 73 career rounds, also will be in the Clemson lineup. Rose finished 25th at Brian’s Creek.

Transfer Calahan Keever, who has a pair of top 10 finishes at individual tournaments this year, will play the tournament as an individual.

Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
