Will “Tee It Up” at The THOMAS SHARKEY INDIVIDUAL COLLEGIATE in Statesboro, Ga. (Georgia Southern University Golf Course) tomorrow and Sunday.

Coach Byrd is giving some underutilized teammates a chance to contribute.
Playing for Us will be:
Will Baker (Fr.)
Justin Burroughs (So.)
Sean Curran (Jr.)
Callahan Keever (Sr.)

The “Pairings” are attached.
Tournament action will get underway with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on both days, weather permitting.

I’m hoping the freshman, Will Baker (from Stratham, GA) performs like I know he’s capable . . . But who in the lineup can he replace?

Andrew Swanson (Junior from Blufton, SC) is probably our most steady and consistent . . . followed by Jonathan Nielsen (Senior from Copenhagen, Denmark).

Thomas Higgins (Sophomore from Roscommon, Ireland) makes a ton of birdies but always runs into a few ugly holes/round.

Kian Rose (redshirt Junior from Guateng, South Africa) and Alberto Dominguez (Senior from Sanlucar De Barrameda, Spain) each had good moments last year but struggled with consistency.

We have the potential to compete . . . but have we improved from last year’s inconsistencies??? I wish I could answer your question . . . all I know is we have enough talent to compete.

Wow, wonderful breakdown. I was a bit harsher, as I always am, in my choppy response. But your key word is consistency. All are capable, just don't see it over 54 holes and 4 counters.

Excited that Will could come in and take over. But as I stated below, sending William to individual with tournament on Monday, I assume he won't be in the rotation. Hope I'm wrong. We'll see.

Not sure how you found the link but certainly appreciate it. I certainly had the confused and thought the tournament started tomorrow... although I'm stoked now that we have more days, and ladies on Sunday.

We're going in ranked 98th. Not good. We're going to have to surprise some teams and beat ranked teams. Top 5 finishes to climb the ladder. We'll most likely have to crush it in the acc championship to qualify.

I'm assuming that since Will is competing in the ga south individuals, that he won't be in the Charleston tournament Monday and Tuesday.

Apologies T_I_P - just a little background. Honestly speaking, this may be the first season in forever that we don't qualify for regional play. Coach has some good ones coming in to start next fall. We'll all be pulling hard for them, but we don't have the scorers as we have in the past.
