It’s really nice to be the top team in the ACC, it’s been a long long time since we had true hope of being a great team.
Thank you to all our players, coaches & fans for hanging a few years. How will we finish in the ACC this season?
I hope we finish with another regular season ACC Championship and for once I’d love to see this team win the ACC tournament!.
Hopefully no more injuries with PJ or Tyson & Alex comes back on fire the rest of the season.
What’s your guess on our conference record? We can come back look at our predictions to see who’s the best at predicting the future.

We will really know more after we play Duke Saturday. We are a good, competitive team and my guess would be 13-7. Long season ahead.

That’s along with where I think we are too. It’s a competitive team & looks to be Brad’s best, so hopefully the pressure helps him.
I could see 14-6 or 12-8 depending on how we handle the most difficult part of the schedule. I hope it’s enough to get us a 4-5 seed in the ncaa tournament.

It won't hurt that we only play UNC, Duke, UVA & Miami once each!

I would love to see us go at least 16-4 in the ACC. This would probably be good enough to win the regular season. But what I would really love is for us to win the ACC tourney for the first time in history!

This year, fans can feel confident we CAN win every game!

This season, there is not one ACC team that is so totally dominant that this particular Clemson team can’t go into the game with a legitimate expectation of winning.
This is a big change and can be attributed both to the current quality of play by the Tigers, and also to the decline in the ACC overall.
And rest assured, for Clemson hoops to gain traction, the traditional ACC powered absolutely had to go into some sort of decline.
This season is a perfect opportunity for Clemson to climb out of mediocrity and to gain a permanent foothold in the top third of the ACC.
Starting out 6-0 is what needed to happen. Winning close games against the odds has been wonderful to witness.
I predict that we will still lose 4-5 ACC games because that eventuality has just been drilled into my psyche over the past 50 years. But this is not my father’s ACC, nor your grandfather’s. The coach Ks and the Deans and the Roy’s are all gone. They’ve been replaced by nepotistic in-house hires of former players (sound familiar?) and right now they’re not doing well. Right now there is no ACC King Pin.
This is a great window of opportunity that has never occurred before and may not come again in any of our lifetimes.
Can we take advantage and do what needs to be done? Time will tell, beginning with beating Duke!

I just want to point out that we’re excelling in a season where Brownell hired coaches that he worked with in the earliest days as a head coach at UNC-W. So I’m not sure your dig at hiring practices really lands.

and in sole possession of first place.
There are currently fourteen games remaining and a lot of basketball left to play. So...what's left on the schedule?
Duke at Wake Virginia Tech Georgia Tech at FSU at BC Miami at UNC FSU at Louisville Cuse at NC State at UVa Notre Dame
Based on everything I've seen and read, most of the talking heads seem to think that Clemson will need to finish the regular season with at least fourteen conference wins to secure a spot in the NCAAT, which equates to eight wins out of the remaining fourteen games.
Let's look at the remaining games objectively;
Duke - toss-up @ Wake - toss-up VT - W GT - W @ FSU - toss-up @ BC - W Miami - toss-up @ UNC - L FSU - W @ UL - W Cuse - W @ NCSU - toss-up @ UVA - L ND - W
If you buy-in to the above, that equates to a 13-2 record without taking into account the outcome of the five toss-up games. If we can win just two of the toss-up games, we'll be sitting at 15-5 headed into the conference tournament and firmly in the NCAAT discussion.
I remain cautiously optimistic.

I love Clemson so much when I look at the rest of the schedule They all look like wins to me.
It’s hard to not be not biased when you’re a Clemson fan and love the Tigers as much as I do. Call me at homer if you want to, I just love my Tigers.
